TwinsWorld.com Charity Event

Every year, Twinsworld.com hosts an amazing charity event for 2 selected national charities in New York New York (the only city named twice). The benefit is held in honor of two different sets of twins chosen annually. Thanks to the continued support of all of the amazing twins and multiples worldwide, we have contributed thousands of dollars towards the research, eradication and support for a variety of debilitating illnesses and medical conditions. The money is then donated to the two charities in honor of the twins selected. Twins, multiples, parents of all multiples and twinless twins are all welcome. The guests range from newborns to 95 year old twins.. It is a fun evening for all, with live twin performances, entertainment for the kids, food, bands and much more. Every year the event gets larger and it is always an evening to remember.

TWIN TOWERS BENEFIT 2/2/02

T.W.I.N.S CHARITY EVENT 2/2/02 was an amazing evening with over 1000 twins and multiples that attended from around the world.  Due to the tragedy of Sept 11th  , Our challenge and commitment at T.W.I.N.S was to help those families  who have lost family members in this crisis.   With this in mind, Debbie and I, with the help of many others, were prepared to take action in our attempt to truly give back. Specifically, we held  this years event in honor of a number of families of twins like our friend Cheri Sparacio,  Gail Regan who has 2.5 year old boy/girl twins and whose  husband Tom worked for AON on the 105th Floor; Janine Snyder  who has 2.5 year old fraternal twin boys and a 3.5 year old daughter, who lost her husband Leonard while working for AON on the 101st ,Melissa Pullis , who has  7 yr old twins and a 19 month old daughter (Melissa’s birthday was September 11th)  who lost her husband Edward while also working for AON, Greg Hoffman who lost his twin brother Stephen and leaves behind his wife Gabrielle and a 5 year old daughter,  Margaret Frawley Gardini who lost her twin brother Kevin, Linda McGee who lost her twin sister Brenda Conway -And there are many more like them.  All of these families now struggle to get back on their feet and move beyond this senseless tragedy. With all of the amazing  help from twins around the world, we have  contributed towards the enhancement and well being of these children and their families for their future. This was an event to  remember the rest of our lives.

The first Twinsworld.com Charity Event was held in 2000 and we had over 600 multiples that attended. We raised money for Cancer and Cystic Fibrosis. It was a fantastic night for everyone that attended. The benefit was held in honor of 2 sets of twins(The Bachens and the Doringtons). Harry Bachen (twin to Joe) and a very dear friend of ours was stricken with Cancer about 3 years ago and has since passed away on February 28, 2001. He wrote a beautiful piece for his brother to read at his eulogy and we wanted to share it all with you. For we all must remember, even when our twin has passed on, we will remain a twin in spirit for eternity. !!!

harry and joe bachen"No disease has the power of annihilation because our bodies are just the suits we wear---and we are so much more than that . I want you believe that everything is OK and I am somewhere watching over all of you. " Harry M. Bachen

Cassie and Katie Dorington were both afflicted with Cystic Fibrosis. The amazing strength and spirit they have both exhibited throughout their lives is incomparable. To our sad fortune, Cassie passed away right before the benefit. We want to send a Huge congratulations to Katie for recently graduating high school, and continued well wishes for her future.

The second Twinsworld.com Charity event was held in February of 2001 at Le Bar Bat and we had over 965 multiples that attended. We raised money for Cancer and Autism. The money was specifically donated to the Gilda House(Cancer) and a NY chapter of Autism which both provide support and outreach for family members of those afflicted with these ailments. It has come to our attention that an alarming number of multiples born are diagnosed with autism. This benefit was in honor of them all. It was a fantastic night for everyone that attended.
