Hi everyone! My name is Jamie and I am new to the site. I have been doing sooooooooo much research on conceiving twins and there is not to much available and what is, is very confusing and conflicting. I have a 9 month old baby boy and I would really like to have twins. My husband and I hope to try to get pregnant around April. I have been doing everything they say MAY help increase your chances. I take the folic acid, B-12, high calcium, and of course...........ghana yams! I am 30 years old and have no twins in the family that I know of. Has anyone used these things and gotten pregnant with twins or knows someone who has? I'd really just like to know if these things really can increase my chances! And of course, if anyone has any advise...........please share! Thanks! Jamie

Hello Jamie: This is my first time on this BB. My husband and I are very blessed to have 19 month old identical twin girls. I just read your post and I was cringing. You have a 9 month old baby and now you are actually TRYING to have twins?? My encouragement is just let God be God and if you get pregnant with twins, then so be it. I can tell you right now that no one realizes how difficult a multiple pregnancy is and how difficult it is to take care of two babies until you're there. The sleep deprivation alone will almost drive you insane!! It is very stressful on the entire household. When I was pregnant with my twins, I had four older children -- ages 2, 5, 8, and 11. My two oldest were a great help to me because I had to rest alot. I still had to change diapers on the 2 yr old, but he was a doll and he would nap with me every day. What I'm saying is, it was difficult for me and I had help and my youngest was 2 yrs. old. You have a 9 month old and your body is still trying to recover from having that one. I personally would not try to have twins. As far as whether any of those things you listed actually help, I have no idea. I have never heard of that. Please don't misunderstand me -- I am grateful that I have my twins and I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. But what I'm saying is that having multiple babies is more difficult that you can imagine, and especially if you already have an infant. But I pray that God's will be done in your life, whatever that is.

Karen, Thanks so much for your advice. I haven't done anything to increase my chances like fertility treatments or things like that. I suppose you are correct about letting G-D do his magic work. Best of luck with your family and thanks so much for taking the time to respond. Jamie
