Hey there, My 7 mo. old identical twins currently sleep next to me on King-size bed, after nursing to sleep. I nurse them simultaneously. They love to sleep next to eachother...holding hands & touch legs or feet. I had planned to buy 2nd crib & move ea. into her own crib in next mo. or so. However, I hate to separate them! They seem to sleep bettr when close. Does anyone have experience or insight w/regards to placing them on twin bed w/guard rails around it?? The thought was to buy twin (or full-size... if suggested as better) box spring & mattress & place on floor in nursery's corner... against 2 walls. Then put guard rails around mattress. Is this a good idea? I'm thinking it will b difficult when they r 2 yrs. & climbing about. My 2.5 yr. old slept b/w hubby & I 'til we moved her into own room. Now, hubby stays on Queen w/her. The plan was for him to move out of her room once twins r in cribs. I'm thinking it may b elementary school b4 hubby & I get in same room! ugh! Thx in advance for your time & info![LIST]

Hey, not that i have my twins yet but i was thinking of one cot with one of those separaters in the middle. Some friends just let their twin girls sleep in one cot either end with their own pillows. I am wondering if i should bother getting two cots or not. and if i need cribs or smaller sleeping bacinettes etc when they are small babies?

I have 2 1/2 year-old fraternal twin daughters. They are very close and as infants slept together in the same crib. When they were several months old, and moving around a lot we put them in separate cribs but pushed the cribs together so they could still have physical contact. Now they sleep together in a double bed, and it is working quite well. Occasionally, they disturb each other in the night, but no more than if they only shared the room, but more often than not, they sleep snuggled together. We have no plans to separate them until they are old enough to voice an opinion or until a problem becomes evidence. The bond they have seems to speak for itself.

I know this is late in coming but here is what I did. My boys did sleep together until they were like 5 months old. Then they were put in seperate beds. My girls on the other hand still sleep together and they are 11yrs old! They liked sleeping together so much, while in a crib, that my husband rigged their cribs and made one large crib. He pulled the outside railings down and wired the bed together. They were safely welded together so the beds could not come apart. They have their own rooms now but still end up sleeping together.

hi, my twin g/b are 4 months old and i have only one crib set up right now. But to tell you the truth they take turns napping in the crib during the day and the same with the play pen. At night I find it easier to have them each sleep in the bouncer or rocker or the swing. In the past month i have been tring to have them sleep in the crib but I haven't tried both of them together yet. Things seam so crazy around here all the time since the twins got here at night I do what ever it takes to get them to sleep. I also have a 3 year old son who requires so much attention. But each day I do try to get them sleeping in the crib. I guess sooner or later we will get it right.

Hello, My twinboys are age 5 and they have slept together since they were born. They shared a crib when we brought them home, even though we had two. When they got older we got them bunk beds thinking they would sleep in their own bed, WRONG they always ended up in bed together. We still have the bunk beds but they sleep on our couch in the livingroom, (sectional) either at each end or in the middle with their heads together.
