I am grandmother to three surviving quads and a set of twins. The quads belong to my daughter, the twins to my son. The quads were born in 1998 at 25weeks, they were naturally concieved. There is one girl and three boys, one boy died at 11 months from lots of disabilities, another boy has cerebral palsy.the twins were ivf babies, a girl and a boy born in this year. We are overwhelmed that our family has been blessed with all these multiples, we laugh because my younger daughter has yet to have children!!! we tell her to be prepared for multiples!!!Pam

Dear Nanny Pam,

I am a Mum of two sets of twins as well. Nearly 10 year old boy and girl, and 3 month old boy and girl. Do people also ask you if both sets of your twins were received naturally or by IVF, i get that all the time. Both sets of mine were conceived naturally.

I am a surrogate mother and had twins twice with a singleton in between. Lucky people!
The first couple quit sending photos when they were about 4. Would anyone suggest I contact them? Its only natural to wonder what they are looking like, nothing else.
Thanks!

Can anyone tell me any stats on the likely hood of conceiving twins twice around? I am pregnant (29 weeks) for the first time with boy/girl twins and someone mentioned to me that it is highly possible!

My wife and I have a set of twin girls and a set of twin boys on the way sometime in the middle of December. The girls are 13 months old, does anybody have any advice for us, that have 2 sets already? My wife is on bed rest right now and its hard work already, I can't wait till the boys get here though.

The doctors told us that the chances of having another set of twins after the first set goes up by 75%. For us it looks like it was 100%.

Hi The stats I was given is that 1 in 80 births in the US are fraternal twins conceived naturally. The odds of having naturally conceived fraternal twins again are 1 in 20.

Hello to all you superparents out there. I only have a set of twins and another singleton 19 months younger. We met Debbie and Lisa who gave us the term "Twingle" and she is very happy being known as that. We do however have twin sheep, twin dogs and triplet kittens but I am writing to let you know of 2 ladies in our club in ustralia - one had b/g twins and b/b twins 16 months apart after being told she couldn't have any children due to a history of endometriosis and another lady who had 3 singletons then 3 sets of b/g twins giving her 9 children under the age of 10. She unofficially adopted a son's friend when they were teenagers. Her eldest daughter has had 3 singles and a set of b/g twins and the whole family are included in a study with Queensland University. She was told in a 4 month period she would have had quads/triplets/quads/quads if she had fallen pregnant in those months. She's glad she stopped when she did. In Australia who have approx 1% of total births being a multiple one but I couldn't tell you of how many with extra sets of multiples.

Our first set are boys, who will be 10 in July and our second set are boy/girl twins who will be 4 in June.

We have two sets of twins too. Fraternal boys that are 2 years old and fraternal girls that are 1 month old. Along with them, we have 3 older children, 10, 9, and 5 years old.

A couple of you asked how 'common' it was to have two sets. Well, my doctor told me that the older you get, the more children you have, and genes have a lot to do with it. BUT it really isn't all that common to have one set after the other, or so he said.

I have a 5 year old singleton girl, 12 month old twin boys, and am expecting twin girls in about 3 more months. my husband drives a truck long distance, and needless to say its very challenging at times. Is there anyone who can help find resources for someone in my shoes (not that I can even find them with all of this baby stuff around!)

THANK YOU

I am the mom of 2 sets of twin girls. One set is 5 and the second set just turned 4. But due to one of the younger twins being born with SMA she did not last past 9 months. Even though I am still the proud mom of 2 sets twin girls.

Hi all, I just joined the group and am thrilled to see that I'm not the only one with two sets of twins! Mine are 12 1/2 and 8, all boys! It's been a long hard struggle at times but the joys outweigh the difficulties (well, most of the time!)

Hi to all!!! I had 2 sets of twins in 11 months. They are 3 yr. old b/g & 2 yr. old b/g twins. My doctor found that the odds of having twins back to back is 1 in 10,000.The odds of having b/g--b/g twins back to back were to high to even get.Yes, they are a lot of work but they are so much fun & it is getting easier now that they are getting older so just hang in there.I would love to hear from everyone so send me an e-mail or a message.Take care!!!

Wow!!! Congratulations! You must be feeling very overwhelmed right now. My best advice to you is to find some live in help if you can. If any of your family can come stay with you (I would think you would need someone very responsible) for at least one year!!! Don't attempt it on your own - you will make yourself crazy! If you can't afford someone full time, at least someone a few days a week so you can get some rest. What about your husband's family? Can they help? God Bless and good luck to you!

I am wondering the same thing. My boy/girl twins are 27months old and one doctor told me 5 times more likely. What does that really mean? I want a percentage.
