Hi my name is emma and i am 24 i have one set of identical twin boys who are 4 months old and have just found out im due my second set of twins in january so im a little shocked and happy but v v afraid. i am originally from ireland but married a us ranger. My family are still in ireland and my in-laws live quite far away so i have little help esp as mu hubby is away an awful lot these days. i found it quite tough the first two - three weeks with the boys but am coping well now but as twins are usually pre term i will have four babies under 1 yr old and possibly the eldest two not even walking so im a little nervous bout the chamges coming. and one of my boys danny is proving quite rebellious in terms of fitting into schedule caleb the other is great but no matter wat i do danny wont work with me. if anyone has any tips or advice on coping i wud be v v grateful.

Wow We have something in common, except i recently had a FEW new additions to my "little" family....it's not so little right now.

My twins Melanie and Melissa were recently parted by death of Melissa. And 2 wks later I had a few blessings to bring home.

Rather ironic how sometimes u have to lose something to gain.

While I have only one set of twins, we have no family in town so I can sympathize there. I HIGHLY recommend the book 'Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child' by Dr Weisbluth. I was very hesitant to let my girls cry but it was totally worth it in the end. During the period of sleep training, the most crying I had in total over three nights was 3 hours - I'll take that any day over 20-30 minutes a day, every day. Now at 14 months they sleep 12 hours at night and nap twice for 1-2 hours each. When I put them down in their cribs they roll over and go right to sleep - not a peep. They've been on this schedule since about 9 months. I'd imagine it will help a lot if at least one set of twins in on a schedule. Good luck with everything. I wish you the best.
