i have a two year old son who will be three next month and i am still breastfeeding him and pumping when i am not able to breastfeed him. i had no intentions of weaning him in the next few months until i found out i am pregnant with twins which are due nov 10. i am planning to breastfeed them too but i have read that my son might get jealous and will want to breast feed even more after the babies come making it harder to wean him. i would like advice on this as well as on breastfeeding twins alone with out the added addition of my son. please please give me some help.
thank you

You are a trooper!!! Remember though, breastfeeding is supposed to benefit everyone, including you. Nursing three children is going to be very hard on you physically, it may be time to think about weaning your older one. The hard part will be the jealousy if he sees the babies nursing. But maybe you can make it a "big boy" ritual for him. Does he take a bottle? My oldest drinks soy milk at night from a bottle before bed time - it's a vanilla flavored brand (8th Continent) and he really enjoys it. If you do continue to nurse all three, remember, the milk supply is nutritiously targeted for you newborns now - he is not getting the same milk he got before you had the babies. Also, make sure you are eating plenty! You should be eating 500 extra calories per baby - that's a lot of extra food - but you'll need it to keep up your energy.
