My 2yr old twin girl had beautiful growing dark hair at one time. At about 18 months old she began to lose her hair. It was so slow that I didn't notice until a couple months later. Her hair was so thin that I could see through to her scalp. It also went from dark brown to blonde. We have a pool and I thought that maybe the Chlorine and the sun combined damaged her hair. I took her to a dermotologist and he pulled out what looked like a 1920's doctor book and told me she has a hair shaft disorder trinexis nodosa. Not sure of the spelling. Well I immediately went home and looked it up on the internet. It does appear she has all the symptoms. I still can't understand however why her hair was completely healthy at one time. It has got better and is alot thicker but still doesn't seem to be growing. Anyone else ever expierenced this? I would really like to talk with someone who did.
