The boys are 7wks old now last time I wrote they were still in NICU they have been home now for 5wks. Naomi my daughter soon to be 4 attends Pre-school caught something coughting, sneezing, and stuffy nose. It hit my husband, myself Kendel, and now Kaleb. It's worse on them than what it was for us they cry bloody murder when we try and aspirate their little nose. Now they have chest conjestion they cought and you hear it rattling. Kendel he was weakest of the two we took him to the ER yesterday he was coughting out of control and trouble breathing. He checked out fine no RSV just a common cold they say! they are to young for medication so we just have to ride it out. So... can anyone offer me any methods to help comfort them??

Use a cool mist humidifier in the room they sleep in. Also, when you take a shower, put them in the bathroom with you, the humidity from both will help them breathe better. If they are having a hard time sleeping in the crib (flat), try either the swing or their car seats. Even though they scream, use the aspirator, they all hate it, but if they can't breathe, you have to use it! My 11 mo. old twins still hate it, but we use it a lot. My soon to be 4 year old seems to bring home EVERYTHING from preschool. The babies caught their first cold at 3 weeks old and have had some type of flu/virus/cold almost once a month now. Last week we had Roseola and had a heck of a time with high fevers and irritability.
