MOST PEOPLE HAVE NEVER HEARD OF TORTICOLLIS BUT IT IS FAILY COMMON IN TWINS. IT IS A CONDITION IN WHICH THE MUSCLES IN THE NECK WERE NOT STRAIGHT. ONE SIDE WAS ALWAYS VERY TIGHT AND THE OTHER SIDE WAS OVER-EXTENDED. IT USUALLY HAPPENS FROM BEING THE BOTTOM BABY AND HAVING LIMITED ROOM TO STRAIGHTEN OUT AND IT EVENTUALLY GROWS THAT WAY. IT IS TREATABLE BUT IT IS TAKES A LOT OF PHYSICAL THERAPY BUT IS DEFINETLY WORTH IT.IT ALSO CAN LEAD TO A MISSHAPEN HEAD. IF THIS CONTINUES W/O INTERVENTION IT CAN AFFECT THE SHAPE OF THE FACE (THE ALLIGNMENT OF THE EYES AND EARS) THERE ARE SPECIALIST WHO WORK ON ACTUALLY MOVING THE BONES TO REALIGN THE FACE AND THE HEAD. MY SON HAS BEEN THROUGH ALL THIS AND IT WAS HARD BUT HE WILL NOT REMEMBER THIS AND HE LOOKS WONDERFUL.
