My name is Melissa and I have an identical twin named Melanie. We turned 32 years of age in July of this year. In 1999 Melanie and her husband decided they were ready to start a family. In October, 2000 they had a little girl. In 2001 my husband and I decided to do the same. However, to date I have been unable to conceive. During these 3 years many people have told me it is because I am a twin. Is there any truth to this? My husband and I have been to several doctors including a fratility doctor and they have been unable to determine why I can't get pregnant. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this same problem, if so, what did you do?

Hello I am a single child, however my girlfriend has an identical twin sister! She has lately become nearly depressed because she heard that twins have fertility problems, and since her sister can definetly have children, she now thinks she is doomed to be childless! I thought this was only a myth, but i have found several sites with twins complaining of the same problem... However i have found no site o confirm or discredit this notion: that when one twin is fertile, the other isn't! Please, help us! Thank you, on behalf of the woman i love!

Hi, I am also an Identical twin, but neither me or my sister have problems conceiving. My sister delivered her 4th child 9 mths ago, and I am due to have TWINS in 5 months, making this my 3rd and 4th child. I have never heard of twins having trouble concieving due to being a twin. Have you tried any fertility drugs? My husband and I tried for a year and a half with this last pregnancy, using no fertility treatments and low and behold i got pregnant with twins. It would be interesting to find out if this is a common problem amongst twins though as i said before i've never heard of it. Be patient, it will happen. Good Luck!
