I have 14 month old twin girls. They were dichorionic and diamnionic. I was told that the records from the examination of the placentae might tell us if the girls are monozygotic or dizygotic (they look remarkably similar). The report stated nothing about their zygosity, but did mention that their amniotic sacs were "focally fused." It also says that one placenta showed "acute deciduitis with early acute villitis." What do these terms mean, and do they hold any key to the quetion of zygosity of my daughters? My husband and I feel that it is important to know in case of any future health problems the girls might experience, and we simply cannot afford the DNA testing on the market. Any information you could supply would be very welcome. Thank you!
