Help! I have five month old twin girls. (They were preemies so their corrected age is 3mos.) They are currently sleeping in the same room in separate cribs. One is a light sleeper and wakes to eat every 4 hrs. The other is a good sleeper and usually sleeps 6-7hrs. The problem is that the light sleeper has been waking up her sister for the last 3 weeks and we end up feeding both of them.

Should I put them in separate bedrooms? I know that sometimes they can experience stress when separated. Does anyone have any research on this or experience with this issue? THANKS!!!!!

I have 5 month old b/g twins. For the first 2 months I had them in seperate cribs in the lounge near our bedroom they use to wake pretty much at the same time as each other for feeding every 4 hours. When they were 2 months I moved them into seperate nurseries and they have slept through the night for 10-12 hours since they were 8 1/2 weeks. Take my advise and seperate them I took advise from a girlfriend with twins and her 2 1/2 year old girls are in beds now and sleep together and dislike being seperated. Even though they are twins they are still individuals. Goodluck.

My twins are 10 months old. At night I wouldn't separate them, but sometimes during the day I would, so they wouldn't wake eachother up. I've tried to keep them on the same schedule. Often that meant waking one up to keep them on the same schedule. A really good book to look at is " on becoming baby wise."
It might be good to keep your girls in the same room most of the time, but when needed have them sleep separate for naps. We have a playpen in our room for such occasions.
